The aim is to make a series called
"A Pig’s World."
"The School is on Fire" is the second book; each time, the story can stand on its own.
The title is clear enough: yes, it’s an emergency!

What happens around me inevitably feeds into my stories. I’m worried by the attitude of banks, the destruction of education and the omnipresence of Ogre Television. By the time they arrive in school, children are not innocent; they have already been influenced by their parents, television, advertisements etc. They must be given arms to resist!
When I was little, I wanted to change society. Nowadays, I often feel lost and powerless in front of the news I’m forced to deal with. Writing stories allows me to react, it’s a manner of living.

In this second book, I celebrate education, which is the basis of society. The adults in the story offer different kinds of models. To learn is to select what is good for us in our environment. The more substantial the story, the more the reader will be enriched while enjoying him/herself. It’s good if the book doesn’t reveal everything at a first reading, and anyway picture books are to be read together with adults.
I believe in books, they allow us to re-establish balance, have another point of view, develop a critical mind. The reader is active, chooses his/her own pace; the viewer in front of a screen is too often passive and that leads to addiction.
Education is also about sharing knowledge. We can all transmit something in one field or another. The grandmother doesn’t know how to read, but she knows how to make delicious waffles!

When I presented "A Pig’s World" to the students of a French high school, a teacher asked me why the little wolf went to a pig’s school. I answered him that diversity helps everyone to flourish. Totally unconvinced, he insisted: "But why doesn’t he go to a wolf’s school?". Yes, sure, there’d be no stories that way…
There you go, enjoy your reading: in the first place it’s a simple story of friendship between a little wolf and a little pig.
